The goal of our adolescent sexual reproductive health and rights programmes are intended to address two challenges to youth development in northern Ghana:
- Many young people in the region lack the basic knowledge and skills needed to manage their sexual and reproductive health.
- Taboos about sexuality issues in general, religious beliefs and social norms such as forced marriages and female genital cutting in northern Ghana, pose strong challenges to providing young people with the right information and services they need to make the right decisions on their reproductive life.
The YHFG is committed to the goal of promoting the sexual and reproductive health and rights of adolescents and making a positive contribution to their healthy development into adulthood, particularly by providing accurate comprehensive information to young people and advocating for access to youth friendly services.
