The agri-business and market system development projects assist the peasant farmer population to become more competitive in local, regional, and international markets. The focus is to improve agricultural productivity, expand value-added agricultural processing, and open new markets, specifically for crops, livestock; tree fruits; and vegetables.
One of our aims is to develop a northern Ghana’s 'brand' for export markets, enhancing the competitiveness of peasant producers and affirming their place in the national and international markets. To enhance peasant farmer’s competitiveness, the program works with farmers through farmer based organizations.
Ultimately, it is our belief that when farmers enjoy better income and better conditions, they will be more likely to send their children to school.
