Yesterday, the Evidence to Action team were at Unicef Ghana to present the project to a cross-sectional team of experts and to seek their technical support for a successful implementation of the project. The aim was also to get the Unicef staff perspectives on the status of the implementation of the national guidelines on age-appropriate comprehensive sexuality education.
The Unicef team, comprising of Annalisa Caparello (the Child Protection Specialist), Christopher Nkrumah (the Education Officer), Sunyoung Hwang (the Adolescent and Youth Engagement Officer) and Jovana. B. Sande were happy that the project combines advocacy for CSE at the national level, knowledge documentation at the regional level and direct implementation at the school level into one design. They suggested to the team to include district level sensitization on the national guidelines on age-appropriate CSE. The Unicef team also provided several contacts and links for the project staff to consult as part of the implementation of the project. We are grateful to Annalisa Caparello for arranging the meeting and to the entire team for the constructive and insightful discussions.
