The project dubbed Positive Action for Girls and Women is being implemented in ten Junior and Primary schools and ten communities in the Bawku West district. The main objective of the project is to significantly reduce teenage pregnancies and end child marriages through the provision of comprehensive sexuality education to young people while engaging community leaders on the norms perpetuating child marriage. Community sensitisations are carried out for parents and community members on how to protect children from all forms of violence including child marriage. The project was launched on the 31st of March, 2017 in Zebilla. School health teachers and other key stakeholders pledged their support in eradicating child marriage and protecting children from harmful practices that are detrimental to their development.
